Birth is sacred, powerful, and deeply personal. I approach every birth with reverence, patience, and an understanding that I am being invited into one of the most meaningful moments of your life.
Birth Photography FAQ
When should we book birth photography?
Birth photography is best booked during the second trimeter, as availability is limited each month.
When are you officially "on call"?
I am on-call beginning at 38 weeks gestation and remain on-call until birth. During this time, I keep my phone on and my schedule flexible so I can arrive promptly when labor begins.
What moments do you capture?
Every birth is different, but coverage typically includes:
- Early labor and emotional moments
- Partner support and anticipation
- Arrival of your baby
- Firth breaths, skin-to-skin, and connection
- Details that tell the story (hands, tears, strength, stillness)
My approach is documentary, respectful, and intuitive, always honoring your space and medical team.
What happens if you miss the birth?
In the rare event I am unable to arrive in time due to extreme circumstances (rapid labor, hospital restrictions, etc), a partial refund will be issued and we'll still document postpartum moments.
How do we book?
A non-refundable retainer and signed contract are required to reserve your due date month. The remaining balance is due by 36 weeks gestation.
FAQ
Do you shoot destination weddings?
Absolutely! I also would love to get into more destination elopements and weddings! Ask me about this when setting up your photoshoot.
Will there be a second shooter?
I offer a 2nd photographer in my Full Story package! To add on a 2nd photographer it is an addiotnal $75/hour.
Do you have a studio space?
I do not have my own studio currently, but I rent out local studios to use if need be. Look at my studio session package for more details!
What kind of gear do you use?
I shoot with a Canon EOS RP body and primarily a Sigma Art 35mm 1.4 prime lens. I have other lenses too of course but my 35 barley leaves my camera! Hoping to add a second body to my collection soon!
Do you do boudoirs?
I do! Not only that but they are some of my favorite photos to take! Ask me about my bridal boudoirs also!
